How far is KeepSafe Storage from Tullamarine and Melbourne Airport?

Accepted Answer

The facility is at 211 Newlands Road, Coburg North, around 15 minutes east of Tullamarine via the Western Ring Road, coming off at Sydney Road or Camp Road. From Melbourne Airport itself, allow closer to 20 minutes. We are not in Tullamarine and would rather be straight about that than imply otherwise. Whether the distance matters depends on how you plan to use the unit: for stored vehicles, seasonal stock or archived records that you visit occasionally, it is irrelevant. If you need to be in the unit three times a week, it is worth knowing before you sign rather than after.

I work shifts and travel for work. Can I get to my unit outside business hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The gate is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, every day of the year, and you access it with your own PIN code. There is no arriving at 11pm after a late rotation to find a locked gate. The office is staffed Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm for packing supplies, paperwork and advice, but staff do not need to be on site for you to access your unit. Can I leave a car there while I am away for weeks at a time?

Yes, and it is one of the more common reasons people in the airport corridor store with us. Cars, utes, motorcycles, caravans, boats and trailers are all accepted at Coburg North. A vehicle sits behind electronically controlled gates with 24/7 CCTV monitoring rather than on a residential street, which is the main concern for anyone leaving a car unattended for a month. I need overflow space for stock but only for part of the year. Is that possible?

Yes, and it is a sensible alternative to committing to warehouse floor space you only need seasonally. The minimum is one month, then month to month with seven days written notice, so you can scale up ahead of a peak and back down afterwards without a fixed term. The facility has undercover loading bays, trolleys, a pallet jack and a forklift for palletised freight. Units of 15m² and above have individual lighting controls, and power points are not standard but can be arranged subject to terms and conditions, so raise it at booking rather than after move in. Yes. Records that have to be retained for compliance but do not need to occupy leased warehouse or office space are a straightforward storage case, and a small unit holds a surprising number of archive boxes given ceiling heights of 2.4m to 3m. The site is professionally pest controlled and access is restricted to your own PIN, with individually alarmed units. If you need to retrieve files regularly, mention it when you book so the team can place you in a unit that suits frequent access.

Coburg North runs six stages of security: 24/7 CCTV monitoring and recording, individually alarmed units, security perimeter fencing, electronically controlled access gates, a unique PIN for every customer, and gated access throughout. The site is well lit and professionally pest controlled. Your stored goods are not covered by KeepSafe's insurance, so arranging cover for your own contents or vehicle is your responsibility.
