Self Storage Wanneroo
Wanneroo is the old town of Perth’s northern corridor, with bigger blocks, big sheds and a long history of market gardens, now surrounded by newer estates. People here tend to own more gear than most, and moving or working away brings it all to a head.
Our facility is in Joondalup at 143 Winton Road, not in Wanneroo. It is about 9km north-west of the Wanneroo town centre, around 12 minutes’ drive.

Why Wanneroo runs out of room
Wanneroo’s storage needs come from the size of what people own and how they work.
The first is the big shed. Older parts of Wanneroo were built on generous blocks, and many have a workshop or powered shed full of tools, machinery, timber, a restoration project or forty years of hobbies. When the block sells, gets subdivided or the owners move to something smaller, the house contents are the easy part. The shed is not, and a two-car garage in a new estate will not hold it. A unit gives you time to sell, give away or keep what matters, rather than clearing a lifetime of gear in a fortnight.
The second is FIFO (fly-in, fly-out) and rotational work. The northern suburbs have a large FIFO workforce, and rosters change how people live. Some give up a rental and stay with family between swings. Some are saving for a deposit and do not want to pay rent on a place they sleep in half the month. Others are between relationships or houses. In each case the furniture and belongings need a secure home that you can reach on a Tuesday at midnight when you land.
The third is home-based business. Wanneroo’s growth has brought plenty of people running businesses from home: online sellers, weekend market stallholders, mobile trades and small producers. Stock, packaging, display gear and equipment fill the garage first, then the spare room. A unit keeps the business out of the house without the cost of leasing a warehouse.
Getting to Joondalup from Wanneroo
From the Wanneroo town centre, head north on Wanneroo Road, turn left onto Joondalup Drive, then right onto Shenton Avenue and into Pontiac Way and Winton Road. That is about 12 minutes, and closer to 15 in peak traffic on Wanneroo Road. From the eastern and northern edges of the suburb, allow a few minutes more.
That distance suits most uses: a weekly stock run, an occasional visit for tools, or belongings you will not touch until the next house. It is less ideal if you need something from the unit every day, so keep daily-use gear at home.
Gate access is 24/7, so you can unload straight off a flight or an evening market.
