Fremantle Markets
The Fremantle markets are one of those places that’s great for brand-new tourists and seasoned locals. Caversham Wildlife Park
Caversham Wildlife Park & Zoo is based in Whiteman Park and is home to some of the largest collections of native fauna in the whole of Western Australia. Beyond the zoo, there are plenty of activities going on. From billy swinging to sheep shearing demonstrations, you can get up close and personal with your favourite animals. There are also plenty of places for you to eat, with numerous barbecues, picnic areas, as well as a great restaurant located in nearby Whiteman Park.
AQWA – The Aquarium of Western Australia
Based at Hillarys Boat Harbour, 20 minutes outside of Perth is Western Australia’s greatest marine attraction. You can go on water journeys along the coast and encounter stingrays, sharks, and turtles, but for those that like the sense of tranquillity water creatures bring, the amazing coral reef has to be seen to be believed. WA Museum Boola Bardip
Meaning “many stories” in Whadjuk, this museum was opened in 2020 after a massive multi-million dollar redevelopment. This museum is dedicated to anything and everything stories. The wildlife exhibition is amazing for the little zoologists in your family, showcasing a huge number of unique animals. For the history buffs, the Reflections exhibition will teach you and your family about the history of Western Australia. For those who want to venture a little bit further out, the Origins exhibition is a deep dive into space. There are plenty of things on offer, including temporary exhibitions which change regularly, so be sure to keep checking back.
The Perth Mint
Who doesn’t like gold? An amazing thing to do with the family is to check out the globally renowned The Perth Mint which boasts a unique combination of exhibitions, demonstrations, and activities so you can experience bullion up close and personal. Yanchep National Park

Visit the Beaches
One of the greatest things about sunny Perth is that you don’t have to venture far to hit a beautiful beach. There are many great beaches to visit within a 30-minute drive. Some of the highlights include Cottesloe, City Beach, Scarborough, and Floreat, which all have fantastic facilities for the entire family. Jarrahdale Equestrian Centre
Based just 50 minutes outside of Perth if you are looking to go on an equestrian trail, beginners and experienced riders of all ages can take advantage of this 150-hectare property, and with many horseback trails on offer, you are going to encounter wildlife, cattle, as well as amazing views of the entire countryside. Adventure World
For adventurous families, Adventure World is one of the star attractions of Perth. Full of family-friendly activities, but for those who are looking for the adrenaline to pass through their veins, Abyss is one of Australia’s most notorious roller coasters everyone needs to survive. There’s plenty on offer here, from the enormous water funnel known as the Kraken, or the pendulum swing fittingly named Goliath.
